Might lanolin be a candidate?<\/h3>\n<p>\nI was working on a dishwasher (see <a href=\"https:\/\/apropostechsolutionscorp.ca\/blog\/2026\/09\/24\/hardware-pinch-clamp-vs-screw-clamp\/\">my previous post<\/a> for some background). During reassembly, I had to fit a rubber pipe back into a plastic port.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe fit was tight, of course, to prevent leakage. Therefore, I knew I wouldn&#8217;t get the pipe properly into the port as it was. I needed some lubrication, but what to use?<\/p>\n<p>\nI settled on lanolin, which I&#8217;ve read is generally safe to use on rubber and plastic.
